School Night at a Glance Main Line School Night, the area's largest adult education program, attracts thousands each term with a choice of over 400 weekday, weeknight and weekend non-credit courses. Timely, trendy and familiar courses keep the mind and body fit in the creative arts, computers, cooking, dance, fitness, hobbies & crafts, home & garden, investing & money management, language, music, sports & games, writing and travel.

To meet the changing interests and desires of the community nearly one-third of School Night classes are new each term. Our inspiring instructors, many from nearby colleges, keep classes lively and congenial. Courses, ranging from 1-day seminars to 10- or 12-week study programs, are planned to fit into busy schedules. A Brief History Founded in 1938 with just 11 classes at Radnor High School, School Night now offers over 400 courses each term spanning 25 subject areas. Our extensive educational network includes a variety of locations, easily accessible from the Main Line and neighboring communities. Through a wide range of non-credit programs, courses and activities, School Night provides exciting new perspectives for the edification and enjoyment of people seeking affordable lifelong learning opportunities.

Our not-for-profit organization is governed by a Board of Directors and is supported by course fees, grants and contributions. It all started with an active Radnor parent and local businessman, Harry Creutzburg. His inspiration was to offer evening classes at Radnor High School to increase community support for its activities. Lower Merion, Harriton and Conestoga High Schools followed and were more recently supplemented by additional community locations. Leadership fell to David Kreitler, who in his 50 years of service made Main Line School Night a national model of adult education. The "heart" of School Night is the Creutzburg Center, located in Radnor's Harford Park. Designed by the architectural firm of Furness and Evans, it was the Victorian estate of Judge John Innes Clark Hare. Leased from Radnor Township since 1970, the Creutzburg Center is our administrative office and the location of most daytime and Saturday classes.
