Continuing Education Digital Photo Certificate Student Jean Solar: Trip to Cuba
Posted on March 28, 2017

Continuing Education Digital Photography Certificate Student Jean Solar recently returned from a photography trip to Cuba. He is currently working on several projects related to documentary and street photography.
#ContraRevolucion
The internal politics established by the regime of the revolution and the economic embargo by the United States of America have led to an evident stagnation in the development of Cuba. The lack of basic elements in health, education, construction and technology are notorious when walking the streets of Havana. Nevertheless, the gradual opening of relations is a sign of hope for better times for the new generation of Cubans.
Jean Solar is a Chilean artist-photographer based in Philadelphia. He is an electronic engineer, who worked mainly on telecommunication projects in Santiago, Chile. He began to study art and photography at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design and has taught several art workshops at the UBC Learning Exchange, a community organization in Vancouver downtown.
