The Senegalese Association of Philadelphia is a non-profit promoting the socio-cultural, economic and health fulfillment of the Senegalese community of greater Philadelphia.

Power Up Gambia's mission is to provide reliable electricity and water to healthcare facilities in The Gambia, West Africa through solar energy. Imagine a hospital without electricity, nurses having to tend to patients, deliver babies and set IV lines by candlelight. No refrigeration for blood banks. Emergency surgeries would be impossible. Children in respiratory distress would have no supplemental oxygen from oxygen concentrators. Drugs and vaccines dependent on refrigeration would be ruined. But solar power can change this. Power Up Gambia, with its mission to provide reliable, responsible electricity and water to health facilities in western Gambia serves to both increase access to health care for poor people and to reduce the toll of "modernization" on our planet. This work succeeds in uniting the two great struggles of our time: the struggle for social justice and that for ecological justice.

The Philadelphia-Serengeti Alliance (PSA) invites you to participate in our debut fundraiser, “The Top of the Hop,” to be held on Saturday evening, October 19, 2013, top floor of Hopkinson House on Washington Square, Philadelphia, PA. We are planning a wonderful evening of African food and music, with over twenty raffle items that have been donated by Philadelphia businesses and individuals — all overlooking a fantastic view of Center City and the Delaware! PSA is an all-volunteer organization officially established in 2012.

Schools Without Borders' mission to empower girls in marginalized communities through literacy. The GIRLS! Library Project employs a public health approach to utilizing literacy as a reduction tool for social determinants of health such as poverty, education and health inequities, and gender discrimination. New printed and Braille books that meet common core standards are provided to create and maintain libraries for GIRLS! in urban and rural communities to increase early grade reading and early childhood cognitive development from birth to third grade/class three.
