This art project is the first out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and has become the third goal aimed at achieving the goal of promoting peace, justice and strong institutions in the campaign at Global Philadelphia Association.

World Heritage Week is a city-wide celebration of the World Heritage City designation of Philadelphia. This year, we are shaping the program around the idea of Sankofa, a cultural ideology originating in west Africa (Ghana). Sankofa represents the practice of looking into the past for inspiration and taking what is of value into the future. GPA will promote both in-person and virtual events and programs throughout the week to celebrate the global heritages of Philadelphia.

A Brand New End: Survival and Its Pictures is a photography-based exhibition of new work by Carmen Winant as part of a five-component project developed by the artist through intensive research — a hallmark of her category-defying practice. On June 10th, free, in-person guided exhibition tours will be held with the curator.
