Mayor Jim Kenney today announced steps his administration will take to strengthen historic preservation across Philadelphia. The actions are implementing recommendations made by his Historic Preservation Task Force.

The World Heritage Coordination team of Regensburg, represented by Monika Göttler, had the pleasure to welcome Mr. John Smith III and his wife Susan for a visit in Regensburg on June 21. Mr. Smith, Board Chair of the Global Philadelphia Association, is a strong supporter of the OWHC idea and had a major share in Philadelphia becoming a member city.

On August 15, the Library Company of Philadelphia (1314 Locust St.) played host to a delegation of visitors from Iraq through the Department of State's American Corners Project.

Philadelphia has always been home to a collection of world leaders and innovators in a variety of industries. Nobody knows that better than President and CEO of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (1700 Market St.) Jack Ferguson. Through his work, Ferguson has seen firsthand the things that make the city so appealing to go-getters in every field worldwide.

International House Philadelphia (IHP) will hold its Annual Global Gala on Friday, May 20th, 2011, at its iconic building 3701 Chestnut Street. This year's Gala is also celebrating the 100th Anniversary of IHP.

On Thursday April 28, 2011, International Visitors Council will hosts its 57th Annual Meeting in the Mayor's Reception Room in City Hall. Join IVC for a general meeting, followed by a reception and conversations with distinguished international visitors. These conversations will be keynoted by a talk given by the night's guest speaker, Sana Abed-Kotob, US Department of State, Office of International Visitors. The event is open to members and non-members of IVC. RSVP by Friday April 22, 12 PM.
