As part of Global Philadelphia Association’s World Heritage Week celebration, GPA hosted a diverse group of young professionals to talk about their career paths and how important it is to think globally. This virtual event not only served as a networking opportunity for the youth of Philadelphia, but it also showcased the international career opportunities Philadelphia has to offer.

Mitchell Little is the executive director at Philadelphia’s Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity. A native Philadelphian, Mitchell’s role is to oversee the work that is done in the office that focuses on improving economic mobility opportunities for Philadelphians impacted by poverty. 

Since 1964, the office has been focused on economic empowerment, evolving from a community service-based approach to one that invests in and advocates for successful anti-poverty solutions.

Temple University and Global Philadelphia team up to show their commitment to the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals through art.

On Thursday, September 30, 2021, the Global Philadelphia Association (GPA), Saint Joseph’s University (SJU), and Samuel Gompers School all celebrated the unveiling of a new mural that brings awareness to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG4) Number 4: Quality Education.

When Gabe Tiberino described his newest mural, unveiled on October 14th at ParkWest Town Center in West Philadelphia, he commented that it “showed people working together like a family community” to fulfill SDG 1:No Poverty, one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. This event marked the completion of another mural project that is part of the Global Philadelphia Association’s SDG Campaign initiative.  

Today we are excited to launch PA SHARP, our $1.2 million humanities recovery and growth program. Through this initiative we will be able to offer up to $20,000 in flexible funding to eligible organizations across the state.

Aqua Pennsylvania, an Essential Utilities company, has officially opened its new high-tech laboratory at its headquarters in Lower Merion. The 14,700-square-foot laboratory is more than double the size of the previous lab that had served the company for more than 70 years.

Fashion Education Videos now televised on local Philadelphia TV station

The videos present industry's drafting and sample making procedures. All procedures can be done in the home with minimal equipment.

The drafting and sewing videos are televised to the Philadelphia Community via PhillyCAM.org, every Wednesday morning at 9 am.
