Discover the Philadelphia Plan which gave us two Art Deco masterpieces, the monumental 30th Street Station and Suburban Station, the first all-underground rail terminal. The tour starts at 30th Street Station and proceeds via trolley to 19th St. From the Comcast tower lobby descend into an underground concourse network to the site of The Gallery, before ending at Reading Terminal and the Marriott Hotel.

We’ll begin at 30th Street Station and learn some Market Street Elevated Railway history, hop on a subterranean trolley to City Hall, then transfer to the Broad Street Line.  We'll travel the subway south to the stadiums, and north to Fern Rock where the subway actually exits the tunnel. From there we’ll take the Broad-Ridge Express Spur to 8th and Market, then board PATCO to Camden and back.

The Wayne Junction Historic District, bordering lower Germantown and upper Nicetown, was once a bustling Philadelphia industrial center known as "Workshop of the World." The Wayne Junction Train Station allowed for easy transportation to import raw goods and export specialized manufactured goods which would be developed and produced for nearly a century from the late 1800’s to the mid 1900’s.
