"Wister and More!" presents Delius Society concert, Sunday, November 17, 2013, at 3:00pm On Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. the German Society of Pennsylvania hosts The Delius Society, Philadelphia Branch. The Barnard Trio will appear on its 2013-2014 “Wister and More! Concert Series” in the acoustically superb Albert and Hete Barthelmes Auditorium at the German Society’s headquarters, 611 Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia.
The Barnard Trio will perform a program made up largely of English works: Norman O’Neill’s delightful Theme and Variations of “Pretty Polly Oliver;” Frank James Staneck’s glowing miniature, “Thanksgiving;” Edvard Grieg’s Piano Trio in C Minor (Grieg was a good friend of Frederick Delius); and Delius’ richly textured Double Concerto for violin, cello and piano. Tickets are $20, Students with ID reduced $10, and may be purchased online via, by http://german-society-of-pennsylvania.ticketleap.com/barnard-trio/ or calling 215-627-2332, or at the door 30 minutes before the concert. The price of the ticket includes a post-concert reception in the Society’s Ratskeller, which will provide an opportunity to meet the artists.
