A workplace sponsor is a senior-level executive that uses their position of power to advance more junior professionals at their organization into key roles. While mentors focus mainly on sharing knowledge and advice, sponsors offer the same support, but have organizational authority, influence, and the ability to make a life-changing career impact on women, Black and brown, and other diverse professionals who often lack support from high-level executives advocating for high-stakes roles and responsibilities on their behalf. Hear from employers that are successfully cultivating relationships between sponsors and junior professionals and gain insight into why sponsorship matters to your overall talent and DEI strategy, how it can help create a more diverse C-Suite, strategies to determine which executives should become sponsors to protégés, and more.
