"The Turtle of Oman" Book Reading and Signing

Acclaimed Palestinian-American poet, novelist, and anthologist Naomi Shihab Nye reads excerpts of her latest book for young readers, The Turtle of Oman. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Ms. Nye will hold a brief Q&A and sign books after the reading. Light refreshments will be provided.
The Turtle of Oman tells the story of Aref, a 3rd grade boy who adamantly does not want to leave his native Oman for Ann Arbor, MI. As Aref's parents prepare for the move, Aref's beloved grandfather takes him around Oman, helping him store up memories he can carry with him to a new home.
