New Sweden Alliance is honored to host the Swedish Council of America Awards of Merit dinner at this premier location--a jewel of Philadelphia. The Swedish Council of America, the community foundation for Swedish America, will honor outstanding achievements of 20 local volunteers, leaders, and organizations.
These awards include:
• The coveted SCA Great Achievement Award in recognition of a lifetime of national or international contributions to Swedish North America
• The SCA Award of Merit to provide remarkable local volunteers with national recognition for their outstanding contributions and hard work within their local community
• The SCA Proclamation to recognize local organizations reaching special milestones in their history
Guests arriving before 6pm will have the privilege of visiting the “Discovering Art in Philadelphia, Treasures from Private Collections” in the Heritage Center at the Union League. Discover two centuries of trends in collecting art, including European masters, Pennsylvania Impressionists, and contemporary Philadelphia artists. The exhibition closes at 6pm.
The Union League of Philadelphia is located in downtown Philadelphia, convenient to public transportation. It stands only two blocks (4 minutes by foot) from Philadelphia’s City Hall. The south wall of City Hall bears a plaque in commemoration of the Swedish settlements on the Delaware. If you plan an early arrival, consider taking a stroll to City Hall to view the plaque.

New Sweden Alliance Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, cooperative association of
member organizations assembled with a common vision of celebrating New Sweden
Colony—the significant heritage, present globalization, and future promise—by promoting
the culture, history, and contributions of the colony, founded in 1638 in the Delaware
Valley.
Tickets are available at three levels:
• 4-Course Dinner and Awards Ceremony $100
• Sponsor (includes dinner, ceremony, and recognition as a sponsor) $150
• Friend (unable to attend; includes recognition as a friend) $50
Additional donations in any amount will be welcomed.
