https://inht.org/soiree/ The Independence Historical Trust and the Independence Visitor Center Corporation will host the Independence Soiree, a virtual event commemorating the centennial of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. The annual gala is going virtual this year! On Friday, September 25, 2020.
Proceeds from this fundraising event will support the operations of Independence Historical Trust and Independence Visitor Center Corporation, two organizations dedicated to welcoming visitors to the City of Philadelphia and providing a world class experience.
Our Honoree
We are pleased to announce that we are presenting the 2020 Year of the Woman Award to sports icon Billie Jean King in recognition for her lifetime contributions to equal rights and equality for all.
Billie Jean King is the founder of the Billie Jean King Leadership Initiative. She has long been a champion for social change and equality. King created new inroads for all genders in sports and beyond during her legendary career and she continues to make her mark today.
The award presentation will be made by last year's guest of honor, Governor Tom Ridge.
