Join Shofuso and the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia for the annual Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival! This day-long festival is packed with events and takes place in the Centennial Arboretum surrounding our house and garden. In addition to hosting an expanded gift shop, we will also be offering timed 20 minute tours of the house and garden for the reduced price of $5.

Urasenke Tea Ceremony Demonstration

Join the Japan- America Society of Greater Philadelphia (JASGP) for a traditional Japanese tea ceremony at Shofuso this July 17th! Members of Urasenke Philadelphia will demonstrate a tea ceremony, and then provide guests with a bowl of matcha (green tea) and a wagashi (Japanese traditional seasonal sweet).

Philly Drawing Club

Join Shofuso’s artist in residence, Oluwafemi Olatunji, for a Philly Drawing Club meeting where artists, doodlers, and art enthusiasts can come together to practice their skills in the beautiful garden. This event is a great opportunity to learn from others and experience the Shofuso!

Taiko Workshop

Join Taiko instructor Mac Evans for a repertoire-learning workshop Sunday, July 9th at Philadelphia’s West Fairmount Park. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Japanese culture in Philadelphia and experience the beauty of the Shofuso’s historic 17th century architecture.
