Pushkin-Vysotsky: A Connection Transcending Time This program, consisting of three twenty-minute segments, reveals that real art transcends both time and language barriers.

The first segment features American lawyer, poet, playwright, and brilliant translator Julian Lowenfeld with an accompanying actress performing his original English translation of a dialogue between Don Juan and Donna Anna in “Little Tragedies” by Pushkin. In the second segment, the same episode will play on-screen as performed by Vladimir Vysotsky in the Soviet television film made of the same work. Finally, the third segment will feature singer and guitarist Vadim Astrakhan performing original English translations of a few of Vysotsky’s songs.
