The Library Company presents the Printing and Reprinting the Great American Novel Virtual event series. This is the second session, titled Wieland (1793) and the (Trans) Migration of Form

This seminar explores how narrative prose was printed and reprinted in the format of the novel in the early United States. What can genres built around prose fiction reveal about the political operations of print in the early Republic? How does the novel’s printing and reprinting shape the genre’s development, readership, and form? We will be examining our often-overlooked fiction holdings as well as periodicals, journals, and other ephemera to explore how popular narrative prose reorganized the print landscape of the early nineteenth century United States.

The tickets are $150 for non members and $135 for members and one ticket covers all three sessions.

The third session is on October 6th.

Enrollment Opens to Members on Monday July 11th!

Enrollment Opens to Public on Monday August 1st!
