Too many Latina students in Philadelphia are confronting a mental health crisis. Over half of Latina high school girls in Philly feel persistently sad or hopeless. More than one in five considered suicide within the past year. And for LGBTQ Latina girls, the situation is even more dire. Yet, these students are largely missing from our conversations about mental health even as unsupportive schools, limited mental health resources, and sexist and racist stereotypes are pushing them out of the classroom. Luckily, Latina students are breaking the silence around mental health. It’s time we listen.

Join the National Women’s Law Center for a panel discussion with girls, advocates, and leaders to learn how Latina girls are fighting for a new approach to mental health in Philadelphia schools.
