Rauf Mammadov runs United States operations for the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). He was the first US-based employee of the 65,000 employee company. Delivering natural gas, crude oil and refined petrochemicals across Europe, SOCAR is currently the largest energy supplier to Israel and largest foreign direct investor in Greece. From offshore operations to pipelines to refineries and retail gas stations, SOCAR has emerged as an energy leader supporting Israel and NATO allies.
Mr. Mammadov was born in Sumgait, Azerbaijan. He graduated from Baku State University with a degree in history and later received an MBA from Baku State Economic University. He is currently enrolled in the executive program at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies where he is pursuing a Master of International Public Policy. He is fluent in four languages – Azerbaijani, Russian, English and Turkish.
