http://www.interculturaljourneys.org Pennsylvania Ballet Concertmaster Luigi Mazzocchi presents an original concert celebrating the diversity of Venezuela’s culture, music, and identity.
With a spirited ensemble of ten musicians, Luigi and his colleagues will showcase compositions by classic and contemporary Venezuelan composer, including Antonio Lauro, Vicente Emilio Sojo, Juan Bautista Plaza and Manena Contreras, as well as a world premiere chamber music composition, “Las Aves,” by Efraín Amaya. This concert will pay homage to the late composer and folk singer Simón Díaz, and serves as an offering of peace in response to the recent violence and civil unrest in Venezuela.
