What is the Leadership Exchange?

The Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange is an initiative of the Economy League to develop leaders of business, civic, and government organizations into visionaries dedicated to making Greater Philadelphia a world class region. Through in-region programming and out-of-region learning visits, the Leadership Exchange provides a unique opportunity for participants to build connections with top business, civic, and governmental leaders and to develop a deeper understanding of the Philadelphia region. Since the inception of the Leadership Exchange in 2005, the program has had a strong track record of exposing participants to new insights and ideas, forging connections across sectors and industries, and strengthening a community of leaders who are shaping the region’s future.

What to expect at this year's Exchange

The Economy League is developing a compelling and broad-ranging agenda that will allow participants to gain a deeper understanding of topics already of interest to them and expose them to other important issues that businesses, nonprofits, and institutions are facing. Among this year’s topics are

An exploration of recent investments to stabilize and improve quality of life in neighborhoods that have suffered long-standing disinvestment featuring visits to Strawberry Mansion and Tioga to see new developments and hear from community and organizational leaders.

Highlight some of the most innovative efforts undertaken by local healthcare leaders such as CHOP and Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) to address root causes of chronic health problems. These institutions are investing in housing improvements, financial stability, and other areas outside of traditional health services that impact individual and community health.

State and local leaders will discuss efforts to support successful reintegration into society of people exiting the criminal justice system and new approaches to criminal justice designed to improve equity and cut costs to the public
