Félix Varela Fellowship Reception will take place on August 31, 2022, at the Union League of Philadelphia. Under the mission set forth by Félix Varela, we are uplifting the voices of emerging leaders from multicultural and bilingual communities. The Félix Varela Fellowship Reception is an induction ceremony for the best and brightest bilingual and multicultural journalists from around the nation. This celebration of journalism is the start of a new tradition in Philadelphia that highlights the achievements and accomplishments of past, present, and future journalists. We will introduce and award alumni for their work throughout the years. During the ceremony, we will highlight our Varela Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient, John Quiñones, who trail-blazed the way for the future of bilingual and multicultural journalists. He will also bestow medals upon the upcoming Felix Varela Fellowship Recipients (6 fellows).
