His humanitarian action is considered the greatest civil rescue operation of Jews during the Holocaust. This time marks the 75th anniversary of Carl Lutz’s great feat to save over 50,000 lives from the Holocaust during his tenure as Vice-Consul at the Swiss Embassy in Budapest.
We will host a next virtual event on June 30 and in-person event on November 10-11, 2020 honoring Carl Lutz and Rescue in the Holocaust. For agenda please see our flyer. For additional information please visit https://ma-rbc.org/Carl_Lutz.html
On June 30, 2020 we will showcase, through a variety of presentations, the life and legacy of Carl Lutz and Diplomatic Rescue in Budapest. We will also host a discussion and sneak preview with the Co-Producers and Co-Directors of the film "Dangerous Diplomacy" and vote for several Memorial Sculptural proposals.
On November 10-11, 2020 we will showcase the life and legacy of Carl Lutz and Diplomatic Rescue in the Holocaust at indoor and outdoor locations in Philadelphia - the city where Carl Lutz served as Counselor of the Consulate General of Switzerland in Philadelphia from 1926 to 1934.
