Black Man's Conference

The second annual Centennial Parkside CDC Black Man's Conference 2022, started by Philadelphia's Centennial Parkside Community Development Corporation's "No Foul, No Fear" Black Men's focus and discussion group succeeding the murder of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement. As this time was filled with unrest the Centennial Parkside CDC took initiative and created this conference to make change and address these issues.

The mission of this conference is "to support and empower Black Men as we continue in communities to move toward positive activism within the challenges of ever-changing times". This event has set up tables where these men and their families can join and discuss with each other in one of the "most iconic civic assets, Fairmount Park". There will be space for retreat and reflection on how to best address issues of concern such as conflict resolution, gun violence, mental health, mentorship, and more. All of these topics are extremely relevant in this time period especially in the city of Philadelphia. Discussing these topics can allow Black Men to feel safe and able to express their thoughts and opinions in hopes for a better tomorrow and future.

This conference is intended to assist in developing a network of Black Men who will commit to working within their communities to mentor, coach, and create safe spaces for others through the process of breakout sessions and the imagining of creative strategies in hopes to build bridges of success through action plans.
