Join the Philadelphia Arab Music Ensemble! Interested in learning about and performing Arab music, Al-Bustan's Philadelphia Arab Music Ensemble & Arab Percussion Ensembles are open to middle/high school and college students and adults. Singers and percussionists of all skill levels and intermediate to advanced instrumentalists of strings and wind are invited to join. Join the ensemble and receive instruction from music director and violin virtuoso HANNA KHOURY, percussionist HAFEZ KOTAIN, and cellist/maqam theory specialist KINAN ABOU-AFACH.

• Choir: 6-7pm with Hanna Khoury

• Percussion: 6-7pm (advanced beginner to intermediate level) and 7-8:00pm (beginner level) with Hafez Kotain

• Instrumentalists (wind/string and select percussionists): 7-9pm led by Hanna Khoury with Kinan Abou-afach and Hafez Kotain Classes begin January 15th, and continue Monday evenings through April 21st. Please note, the first class is on a Wednesday, all subsequent classes are on Mondays. No class will take place Monday, Jan. 20th in observance of MLK Day.

Rooms 101 & 102 Fees:* $325 for Spring Semester (13 sessions)

No fee required for enrolled UPenn students who can take it for .5 course credit: Arab Music Ensemble Course – MUSC 007 The semester’s culminating performance will be Thursday, April 10 at University of Pennsylvania.
