JEVS Human Services

JEVS, Jewish Employment and Vocational Services, is a noprofit organization that focuses on improving employment and quality of life for those challenged physically, emotionally, and developmentally, as well as those facing socio-economic challenges. It provides over 20 programs, including skills development, job readiness services, rehabilitation and recovery, residential services, and in-home assistance. 

Founded in 1941 to help Jewish refugees adjust to Philadelphia life, JEVS continues to be rooted in the Jewish concepts of Tzedakah and Tikkun Olam, which dicate that providing help to others benefits the entire community and the world at large. It also remains involved in the Philadelphia Jewish Community, providing career assistance, employment services, and college preparation to Jewish community members. 

JEVS is one of the largest private nonprofit organizations in the Delaware Valley. With almost 1,000 employees, it serves over 22,000 people per year through its various programs.
