World Heritage Cities Congress - AREQUIPA 2015

Tuesday, November 3, 2015 - 12:00am - Friday, November 6, 2015 - 11:59pm
Arequipa, Peru
United States

The XIII World Congress of the Organization of World Heritage Cities is held by the city of Arequipa from November 3 to 6, 2015.

The city of Arequipa is located in the southern part of Peru in South America as part of the Atacama Desert and the deviations of the western Andes, at the foot of three volcanoes, Chachani, Misti and Pichu Pichu, which together with the Chili river and valley, form a landscape setting of exceptional beauty.

Those who will join us in November 2015, will have the opportunity of sharing with us valuable experiences in the field of conservation and heritage management, especially those related to urban resilience in World Heritage Cities. In addition, they will be able to enjoy a city in which Andean and Western essences are rendered in spectacular sceneries in which the urban element is closely linked to its rural counterpart, the natural setting does not stand apart from the man-made territory but translates into a unique territory, not free of its own challenges in the identification and management of risks.
