USA's 250th in PHL: 2026 (LUNCH @ PHL CITY COUNCIL)

Thursday, October 22, 2015 - 12:30pm - 3:00pm

Young USA250 supporters, and friends of any age, are invited to a special lunch briefing in the Philadelphia City Council Caucus Room, as part of State of Young Philly Week, organized by Young Involved Philadelphia. Meet leaders of our Gen250 Committee and learn how to get involved with our plans for 2026.

In April 2015, Philadelphians are making big plans for America's 250th anniversary in 2026, and that work was unanimously endorsed by a resolution passed by Philadelphia City Council in April 2015.

Many of Philly's most prominent institutions, art and public spaces were first introduced at the 1876, 1926, or 1976 celebrations, when millions of American and international guests came to Philadelphia. Learn how a diverse set of regional institutions are launching the planning process and how Young Philadelphians can get involved.

Today's 2nd graders will graduate high school in 2026. We have our work to do in order to ensure that Equality, Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness are leading values for the next generation.

This event is also part of GlobalPhilly 2015 and will include an overview of international participation in national anniversary events hosted in Philadelphia in 1876, 1926, 1976 and next in 2026.
